The New Ford F-150 has many great features and the remote tailgate release is one that is particularly useful. If you own a truck, you know how much of a pain it can be to lower the tailgate. For instance, If your hands are full it can be tough to reach the handle, and If you own an older truck the tailgate can be heavy and slam down when you release it. Thankfully these minor inconveniences are no longer an issue thanks to the new Ford F-150 thanks to the Remote Tailgate Release.
Use Your Key Fob to Release the Tailgate
From the key fob of the new F-150 you can both lock your tailgate and release it so it slowly lowers. To lock the tailgate, all you need to do is press the tailgate button once on your key for. To release the tailgate, you simply need to tap the button twice. It's important to be within three feet of your tailgate for this feature to work. While this sounds close, it's a good safety feature to keep you from accidentally opening your tailgate when away from your truck.
